The required bandwdidth depends on various factors such as: - Codec - Codec samle length - Protocol stack (IP, PPP, Frame-Relay, etc.) - Tranmission Network (DSL, ATM, etc.) - Echo Cancellation As a general rule of thumb the bandwdith for one call in one direction is between 10 and 110 kb/s. An excellent overview of how these parameters can be tuned and effect the VoIP bandwdith can be found in the following TechNote. http://patton.com/technotes/smartnode_qos.pdf | |
