How to change the amount of VoIP channels on the SN10K?

SN10K VoIP Hardware upgrade installation guide

To upgrade the amount of VoIP Channels in your SN10k, you will need to first purchase the license and hardware upgrade.

Below are the steps to install the hardware:

Before starting the procedure, please read this entire document before starting and make sure you have all of the required information, tools and setup ready to ensure a quick upgrade procedure. The overall procedure will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Required hardware tool:

  • Philips #1 screw driver

SN10K VoIP Hardware upgrade kit:

  • 1x SoDimm VoIP upgrade mezzanine
  • 2x Metal screw

SN10K VoIP Hardware upgrade installation:

  • Remove the 2 metal screws retaining the top cover on each side of the SN10K 2U

  • Loosen the thumb screw with a Philipp’s screw driver (if you cannot do it with your fingers)

 

  • Slide the cover to remove it from the chassis

  • Roll up one end of the wrist wrap to your wrist

  • Attach the copper tape to the chassis of the power supply

  • Locate the lowest numbered available VoIP SoDimm slot

  • Install the VoIP Mezzanine in lowest numbered available SoDimm slot

  • Ensure VoIP mezzanine is properly clipped onto the SoDimm connector

  • Install the screws (do not over tighten) with the #1 Philips screw driver

Top cover installation:

  • Put back the top cover by sliding it into the chassis.

  • Screw on the thumb screw

  • Put back the 2 top cover metal screws on each side of the SN10K.
